My original luthier just e-mailed me to say they have a 7/8 in stock for me to try. I may go in today. This time, I'll bring the MiniDisc to record it. It's a thousand dollars more, which is more in line with what I was expecting to pay and was budgeting for. More expensive doesn't mean better, of course; it's the sound that's important, and I'm very pleased to be able to hear another 7/8 and to have a broader field to choose from.Updates as events warrant.
If we don't go to try it today, we'll be going to the license bureau to get the plate for the car transferred instead. Equally exciting, really.
